A few good questions.
Is Promptly really invisible when I share my screen?
Yes. The overlay is excluded from screen capture at the macOS level, so participants see your slides or demo, never your script. It stays out of recordings and screenshots too. In Zoom, set screen capture mode to "Capture with window filtering" (the setup guide shows where).
How is this different from a normal teleprompter app?
Traditional teleprompters scroll at a fixed speed and expect you to keep up. Promptly listens as you speak and scrolls to match: it waits when you pause or ad lib, catches up when you jump ahead, and re-anchors if you go off script. Less like a prompter, more like notes that read along with you.
How much does it cost?
$20 a month. Your first three Go Live sessions are free, no credit card, and you can cancel anytime from the app.
Why a subscription and not a one-time price?
Voice tracking runs on live cloud transcription, which costs money every session, so a one-time price can't cover it. $20 a month pays for the transcription, the action cues, and the updates. Your first three sessions are free so you can decide on a real call, not on a promise.
Does it work with Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?
Zoom works today. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams support is in testing: it works for most setups but we are still refining edge cases. Check the setup guide for details.
Is there a Windows version?
Not yet — Windows is on the roadmap, no dates committed. Drop your email on the trial page and we'll tell you when it's ready.
What happens to my audio? Is any of it stored?
Audio streams live to our transcription provider, gets turned into text, and disappears. No recordings. No transcripts. No training data. Nothing is kept — not by us, not by anyone.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. One click from the app, no email, no phone call, no retention flow designed to wear you down. You keep access through the end of the month you've paid for.
What happens after the free sessions?
Nothing automatic. We don't take a card up front, so after your third free session Go Live simply asks you to subscribe. If you don't, Promptly quietly stops working and leaves your scripts intact. There's no clock: your free sessions wait for the calls that matter, whenever they happen.
